Wappa Falls

A beautiful little waterfall gushes over slippery rocks into this deep and satisfying swimming hole on the Maroochy River. The pool is surrounded by rocks for sunbathing but there is nothing much else here, making for a gorgeous wild swimming pool. This is a well-known local spot but only really gets busy at weekends. There has been a death here due to someone swimming after heavy rain so, as always, use your common sense and don’t swim when water is fast-flowing. People commonly jump from the rocks above the falls into the pool but this can be an extremely slippery take off zone so take care. There are more pools downstream.
