“A real treasure in north Brisbane.”
If you like walking along the waters edge, fossicking in the sand or strolling along a jetty, then Shorncliffe Beach is for you! This place is perfect for families of all ages and stages. The bay is a perfect place for wind/water sports for the active beach goer, whilst the gentle waters of the bay are perfect for toddlers who simply delight in jumping the waves and playing in the sand. There is a public pool for those who don't want to get sandy, myriad barbeque and picnic shelters and plenty of trees for a shady picnic. This beach is a favourite amongst the locals, if you want a picnic shelter on a Saturday or Sunday, arrive early as they are soon gone! I recommend an afternoon stroll from Shorncilffe Pier at Moora Park towards the Ted Smout Memorial Bridge, at Dekker Park. It is several kilometers, but very doable. Finish off the evening with fish and chips as you watch the lights of Brisbane port twinkle on the skyline.
