“A futuristic five storey multi-functioning wine centre.”
Before the construction of The Cube, d’Arenberg winery was already one of the stars of McLaren Vale with a long tasting list (over 60 wines to swill your chops around), restored 19th Century homestead, and a top notch restaurant, famous for its lobster medallion (and awards).
But with the opening of the curiously constructed ‘Cube’, d’Arenberg has firmly deposited itself onto the top of many bucket lists. This five storey building that makes you tilt your head sideways, is set among Mourvèdre vines, with views overlooking the Willunga hills, and has another restaurant, cellar door, sensory areas and art installations.
During a tasting at d’Arenberg you’ll hear about a racehorse named Footbolt, money spiders, dead arms, laughing magpies, and lucky lizards, and make sure you try the Dead Arm Shiraz. If you want to play winemaker then book a spot on their ‘Blending Bench’- a hands on experience where you make and name a bottle of wine and then take home to show off to your friends.
