“The historic village of Franklin, once a bustling shipping port, nestles in Tasmania's orchard and southern wineries region.”
The historic village of Franklin, once a bustling shipping port, nestles in Tasmania's orchard and southern wineries region. Along with hillsides of apples and cherries, and the majestic Art Deco Palais Theatre, it is home of the Wooden Boat Centre, preserving the skills of traditional wooden boatbuilding. Explore the Huon River under sail or on a 1917 ferry. Dine in nearby cafes. Once part of the heart of the community, the heritage-listed 1860 Methodist church overlooks the river and its black swans, sharing the lofty space between the spacious, contemporary two-storey B&B apartment and the yoga studio. Guests are very welcome to join the small yoga classes (Monday 5:30 -7:00pm & Thursday 9:30 -11:00am, except in January) or to request private sessions. Please be aware that access to the B&B is limited during class times. Accommodation includes mezzanine queen bed, fireplace, dining and living area, kitchen with bar refrigerator, microwave and electric frypan, bathtub and separate shower, hairdryer, electric blanket, CD player, CDs and books. Breakfast provisions include home-baked muffins, free-range eggs, Tasmanian preserves, seasonal fruit and juice, yoghurt, cereals, teas and freshly ground coffee, port and handmade chocolates. Restore and reconnect with yourself while you explore this beautiful valley.
