Tarkine Wilderness Lodge

Located on the northern edge of the Tarkine Rainforest, the Tarkine Wilderness Lodge is nestled on 200 acres of pasture with 360 degree views of the magnificent rain forest. Each of the three large bedrooms feature beautiful Tasmanian timber finishing, a queen sized bed, large windows, balcony and well-appointed ensuite. Enjoy delicious home style cuisine prepared with fresh Tasmanian produce complemented by a fine local wine. The Lodge offers a range of activities, guided rainforest walks, majestic Arthur River tour and nocturnal wildlife tours. Your hosts at the Tarkine Wilderness Lodge are experienced guides who can escort you on a safe, yet breathtaking stroll through the largest temperate rainforests in the southern hemisphere, providing visitors with plenty of information on this ancient 60 million year old forest home to many threatened and endangered species. Walks depart from the Tarkine Wilderness Lodge at 10.30am and cost $35 per person or $55 per person including BBQ lunch served at 1pm. Group bookings are also welcome. *All walks are subject to availability and weather conditions. To avoid disappointment bookings are essential. The lodge operates on renewable energy and tours are low impact. Their aim is to leave the smallest ecological footprint possible.
