When visiting Norseman, take the time to enjoy the lovely views from Beacon Hill Lookout and stroll the walk trail that goes off from the east side of the hill and comes back up on the west side. The trail has interpretive signage along its length, with seats at various intervals for you to relax and take in the scenery. There is a rustic information hut on the summit with history boards and photographs and a directional dial that identifies views from the hut. Beacon Hill is just two kilometres from the town centre on Mines Road and a brochure is available from the visitor centre. On the way up Mines Road you can also call into the Norseman Historical Museum. The building was originally the 'School of Mines' and now houses a collection of historical exhibits that tell the story of mining and the early settlers who pioneered this region. In 2016 the museum came third in the State Heritage awards and now has new exhibits in the outside grounds for visitors to enjoy.
