Looking for the perfect place to drink away your sadness over the fact that your Hogwarts acceptance letter is still lost in the mail? Toronto has the perfect spot: The Lockhart, a Harry Potter-themed bar that, when word got out about the place, pretty much broke the internet faster than you could say "accio butterbeer". Seriously, never doubt the immense power of Harry Potter and his fans. The cool thing about The Lockhart is that the theme is incredibly subtle-- it's not at all like The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. If you're not a huge Potterhead, it's easy to imagine you're just at a trendy new bar, and if you love anything and everything Harry Potter, you'll have fun spotting the references to the series-- there's a stag on the wall, a hidden Deathly Hallows symbol, and a neon sign that reads "all is well". And, while you'll find plenty of HP-themed drinks (like the Shacklebolt and the Befuddlement Draught), you can also spot other sci-fi/fantasy references on the menu as well-- be on the lookout for Star Trek, Dr. Who and the Watchmen cocktails. Plus, they serve nibbles (try the popcorn) and are slowly making a foray into the brunch scene as well.  The bar definitely doesn't rest on the Harry Potter gimmick-- the decor is super cool and hip, and drinks and food are legitamately good-- the bartenders can even make you a personal cocktail based on what you like and what you happen to be in the mood for. But, that being said, there's no better place to geek out with fellow Harry Potter fans and enjoy Toronto's thriving foodie scene. The references to the wizarding world are subtle, and the place doesn't just rest on the HP gimmick though, The Lockhart is a rad little joint at the crossroads of Dufferin and Dundas, now open!
