“Ko Tāne is the South Islands only Māori Cultural Performance and Hāngi.”
Your evening at Ko Tāne will include a traditional Māori powhiri/welcome, a fully interactive village and a kapa haka performance.
In the village you will be shown the tools and skills of Māori hunter, his cooking techniques, your hāngī dinner being lifted out of the ground, the games he played and traditional instruments.
The 45 minute kapa haka performance includes action songs, poi dances, haka, stick games, weapons displays and the opportunity to learn the poi and the haka.
Finally, enjoy a four course dinner with hāngī cooked mains served by the same performers that entertained you. Optional extra is entry to Willowbank and a 45 minute Guided Kiwi Tour to create a 'true kiwi experience'.
Reviews
Great fun experience with a great team of locals. The hungi was also delicious!
