“The best way to see the city is on foot”
The best way to discover the heart and soul of Wellington, New Zealand's capital city, is on foot. Walk Wellington makes this very easy by giving you a personal introduction to the city. Their enthusiastic and knowledgeable local guides will show you the key historical and cultural sights, and give you insights about this vibrant city. They will reveal stories about Wellington's past, present, people and places - things you won't always find in the guide books.
Their easy-paced two hour walk begins at the i-Site Visitor Centre at the front of the Michael Fowler Centre (111 Wakefield St at Cuba St Intersection). Some of the highlights will include Civic Square, Wellington's beautiful waterfront, Queen's Wharf, Lambton Quay, Old Government Buildings, grounds of Parliament and Old St. Paul's Cathedral.
Walks depart at 10am daily, rain or shine. (Except on Good Friday and Christmas Day)
This walk is wheel chair accessible but there is a slope up to Parliament Buildings.
