We stopped in Springfield to visit with clients. After trying the County Park in the area and not staying due to electrical issues, we were happy to find an opening here. This campground feels like it's much further out of the city due to its open green spaces. We've stayed at one or two other KOA parks before, many that we wouldn't recommend, but this one is quiet and worked well for a couple of days.

We haven't stayed in very many KOAs and I'm now wondering why. This campground was a lot of fun. It was clean and cheerful with good staff. The office had a really nice gift shop and they also sell pizza! The swimming pool and yard games all looked like fun. The train is really close by and it is loud but it's kind of cool. We enjoyed our stay very much and would stay here again if we are in Springfield. We highly recommend visiting the Dickinson Park Zoo.

The grounds were pleasant. Gravel spots, pool, shade. The bathrooms were very dark and the shower heads were very low. It felt like I was showering in a cave. Staff was friendly. Wi-Fi was great.

Staff was friendly & helpful. 50 amp power was good along with water pressure. Sites are gravel-narrow and unlevel, and our motorhome barely fit side to side. Train and airport noise.

There's not much around Springfield and several looked shady so I decided to stay at a KOA and bite the bullet on the price.
It's the only campground I've ever checked in where they told me the wifi password and that it was very streamable! Most ask people not to stream...
The husband wife owner team were great, Top notch people. Kept the campground very clean. Water spigots were all wrapped in heat tape.
The train noise/issue people have complained about is legit. Some exaggerate the frequency but it is often enough that its very noticeable and trying to have a conversation or a phone conversation while outside is a problem. The train tracks abut the property and I could see the train as it thundered by. Inside the camper with a TV or radio on wasn't much of an issue.

I was in town for a high school graduation so this location was not too far from my friend's house. It was a nice park. Lots of trees. Most sites were pull through. The bathrooms were clean and the water hot. The pool was not open yet for the season, but it looked ok. The playground for the kids was pathetic. It was an old structure like what someone would have in their backyard. Other than those two things, there really wasn't much else to do. A basketball court, you could rent tricycles, and an outdoor place for groups. I wasn't there for a vacation but I thought it was somewhat lacking compared to other KOA's I have stayed at as far as stuff to do, especially for the price. They did accommodate me on a late check out and I really appreciated that. The wifi did work well though, I was in a spot not too far from the office. I also had good cell service.
There is a train track next door so be prepared to hear a train horn in the middle of the night.
Also, the entrance to the park is almost hidden with overgrowth of trees and bushes. So don't go too fast down the road or you will miss it.
I would stay here again because the location was convenient but I would definitely look for a sale or special, I felt the price was high for the amenities.

I probably shouldn’t be allowed to write reviews on KOAs as I hate staying in them. Sometimes when it’s late and you are tired they are easy to access. This KOA is certainly overpriced. A train runs by about every 2-3 hours. There is a field of garbage next to our site. The host was super nice. There is a camp store packed with a bunch of cute stuff that I don’t need. Next time I’ll push through to a state park or free site.

Trains all night long, literally every 5-10 minutes running all night long. The park is literally 1,000 feet away from the railway and you hear them clearly. Unless you use a hearing aide that you can remove, or sleep like the dead, the trains will wake you up all night long. For the good, park is close to little downtown area with a few cute shops for Route 66 souvenirs. Staff was very friendly and the place was overall pretty clean and kept up. Trash cans were overflowing but that seems to be normal for most parks that I’ve visited. Gravel sites but pretty level with easy hookups. ‘
Because of the noise I couldn’t stay again or recommend.

We are camped here right now. It’s a lovely campground with tons of shade. The sites are a reasonable distance apart and our neighbors are friendly. We have a 20 foot camper so don’t know about big rig sites. I’m delighted with our site. WiFi is good and, since we’ve been out for a month with little or no WiFi, that’s very important. There is a train that is quite close but it’s not that loud. We’ve camped where they are much louder. We do have a sound machine and our A/C is LOUD. That hides the train noise well. This is a very nice campground.
