Our Take

The most important thing to note about the National Mall is that it’s probably a lot bigger than you think, so planning out which memorials and museums are must-visits for you is essential. But when you’re on your way from attraction to attraction, take a moment to pause and appreciate how cool it feels to be surrounded by so much culture and history. Or check out any events that might be happening; there’s almost always something special going on. And, side note: All of the Smithsonian restaurants and cafes are really good, so go ahead and work up an appetite.
