Vermont is a beautiful state with lots to offer. It's also about 80% trees, so it's the perfect place to go hiking. If you're on the hunt for beautiful views and a chance to become one with nature, here's a list of some of the best hikes in Vermont.

One of Vermont's most popular trails, the Sunset Ridge at Mount Mansfield is a 6.8 mile loop with multiple views and summits. Most of the trail is above the timberline, so you will be impressed with vista after vista. You can see New York from the top! If you want to hike to the top, brace yourself for an intense adventure: this is the highest mountain in Vermont with a summit that peaks at 4,393 feet.

The scenic drive at Smugglers Notch State Park is the main attraction, especially during fall, but there's some awesome hiking to be had here as well. Trek out to Sterlings Pond for a sweeping view of the water, then keep going along Long Trail-- if it's a clear day, you can get a view of Montreal!

I know, I know... another forested mountain hike in Vermont. But seriously, since each mountain view is more beautiful than the last, it's impossible to get tired of them! The Camel's Hump Trail is 6 miles, moderate in difficulty, and offers 360-degree panoramas from the top. Burrows Trail is 2.4 miles one way to the top and is pretty easy as well.

All along Vermont's Mad River, you'll find swimming holes tucked away, but Warren Falls is something special. Deep pools of water for adults, shallow riverbed for kids to wade, rocks to jump off and waterfalls to swim under mean kids and adults alike can find hours of fun here. The hike down is pretty easy, and the payoff is incredible!

This one is popular for the 4-state views from the top. If you want the view without the work (hey, we don't judge... this mountain is a whopping 3,848 feet tall) then you can take the Skyline Drive straight to the top.

Whether you're looking for an intense workout up a mountain, or a quick trip with stunning views will do, Vermont is a hikers' paradise!
