Reviews
The Hotel Andaluz was the first high-rise hotel to be built in New Mexico, by Conrad Hilton. There’s a fab rooftop bar.
I can't believe this hotel was rated 4 stars. First, they don't have a self-park option so you either have to valet it ($16/day) or park at your own risk somewhere else. There were homeless walking around the hotel so we opted for the valet option since we had valuables in the car.
The drain to our tub was corroded so I couldn't give my baby a bath. No blackout blinds so our room was full of sunlight by 6 am. Rooms and bathrooms are very small but understandable since the hotel was built in the 30's. You have to call the front desk If you need a fridge (the one in the room is Energy-friendly so it's not as cold as a regular fridge, not sure what you could put in there), coffee maker, ironing board or any other basic amenities that a 3 star would come with.
Ordered food from the restaurant and it was meh. Paella wasn't good, rice was weird and taste was off. Bacon wrapped dates were ok, patatas bravas (wedged French fries) were overly salted and shrimp chorizo was nothing special. Grilled lamb was good though.
I guess for the price, it's an ok place to stay. I would compare it to a Hilton, Marriott, or other 3 star hotels. Hotel Andaluz is definitely not a 4 stars.
