“explore 150 years of American railroad history”
Explore 150 years of American railroad history; from the origins of the nation's first transcontinental railroad in 1862 to the advanced technology of modern-day railroading. Closed April 8-May 11 for installation of new anniversary exhibit. The Union Pacific Railroad Museum houses one of the oldest corporate collections in the nation. It includes artifacts, photographs, and documents that trace the development of the transcontinental railroad and the American West. Our mission is to educate the public about the past, present and future of America's largest railroad and the railroad industry. To accomplish this mission the museum will collect, research, and preserve a large collection of photographs, archives and artifacts relating to the railroad industry and the Union Pacific Railroad.
