“A haven for wildlife”
For years, Lovers Key was accessible only by boat and it was said that only lovers traveled to the island to enjoy its remote and solitary beach. Today, it is one of four barrier islands that make up this state park. A haven for wildlife, the islands and their waters are home to West Indian manatees, bottlenose dolphins, roseate spoonbills, marsh rabbits, and bald eagles.
Reviews
Lovers Key State Park surely deserves its name! Although there is nothing ecstatic to do if you are an adventurous person you can still enjoy the wildlife around you.
This place is recommended for real nature lovers. You can swim in the warm water of the sea by feeling the breeze of the soft air chilling your body.. create art with the shells that the shore provides you..write your name in the sand..let the inner voices of yourself come out and your deepest thoughts free.
It will amaze you how romantic this place is and while you watch the sun set just sit down and relax!
There are toilet facilities on site and you can rent a kayak if you want to be on water..If you prefer earth then take the tram which will guide you all around the place.
