Good museum, will take about a half hour to get through. You can take a ride in a plane too. Loads of easy parking and the entry fee is not outrageous. Very family friendly. Close to Schlitterbahn, Moody Gardens and the airport.
This place was incredible. I was so happy to see such a dedicated teem of people who volunteer to keep this living history in flying status. The museum consists of two large hangers packed with WWII era war birds. Most of the air craft are still in flying status, while there I witnessed the B-17 start its engines, as well as ground crews working on the left engine of a B-25. You can get up close to all the air craft, there are some ropes to keep visitors a safe distance form important equipment. It cost very little to get in, I think I payed $5. Well Worth It!
My husband is a plane geek and loved it. We will be stopping again
You can actually take awesome "warbird rides" here - take a flight in a P-51 Mustang, B17 Flying Fortress and others. More info here: http://www.lsfm.org/flightexperiences.html
