The Shoeless Joe Jackson Museum is located in the beautiful West End of Greenville, SC. When you come to visit the museum, you will actually be visiting the home that Shoeless Joe Jackson lived in with his wife, Kate, until his death in 1951. In 2006, the home of Joe Jackson was dismantled, moved three miles, and reassembled on Field Street in the historic West End of Greenville, SC, directly across the street from Fluor Field, home the Greenville Drive, a minor-league division of the Boston Red Sox. In July 2007, the house was deeded to the Shoeless Joe Jackson Museum and Baseball Library foundation. On June 21, 2008, fans celebrated the dedication and grand opening of the museum! The not-for-profit museum displays records, artifacts, photographs, film and other items of interest associated with the historic life and baseball career of Shoeless Joe Jackson. A book collection related to baseball and its role in American culture is housed in Joe's former trophy room. Donations of books have been made by baseball enthusiasts from across America. The house number is 356, a reminder that Joe’s lifetime batting average was .356, the third highest in baseball history after Ty Cobb and Rogers Hornsby. The museum is FREE to all and there is also free on-site parking behind the museum! We also have a gift shop that accepts cash only. Come to see us & hang out at Shoeless Joe's house for a while! Our all-volunteer staff would love to give you a tour! Our passion is to educate old and new fans alike about one of the greatest baseball players in history!
