Holland State Park is located in the U.S. state of Michigan, in Park Township, Ottawa County, four miles (6 km) west of the city of Holland. The park covers about on the northern side of the channel connecting Lake Macatawa with Lake Michigan, and consists of separate Lake Macatawa and Lake Michigan units. The former features an extensive campground, a beach on Lake Macatawa, and a public boat launch, and the latter features a smaller, paved campground, a pavilion with a snack bar and other facilities, and a broad sandy beach along Lake Michigan. The adjacent channel breakwall is a popular walk in the summer, though it is not intended for public use and can be treacherous during adverse weather. The park features several dune areas, picnic areas and playgrounds, as well as views of Holland Harbor and the Holland Harbor Light (Big Red).In 2012, more than 1.9 million visitors came to Holland State Park, making it the most used park in the Michigan State Park system. Holland's pristine white sand beach, boat access to lakes Michigan and Macatawa, and freeway access to large population centers such as Grand Rapids, Lansing, Detroit, and Chicago have all contributed to its popularity.

There are 2 parts to the camp ground: the Lake Michigan campground and lake macatawa. We stayed at the part by lake macatawa. At first we weren’t too big of fans because the sites were close together, there were really big tree roots that were unavoidable when setting up our 23 foot trailer.
We ended up loving it and our kids didn’t want to leave. Everyone camping there was super friendly and kids were all over. It really reminded me of what it was like growing up where kids ran the streets with bikes and scooters.
One of the bathrooms was remodeled and amazing while the other ones were older but useable. My 9 year old is very picky and showered in both.
It is so close to Dutch village, windmill island, 2 beaches, and the general store with ice cream. We would definitely go back again.

Very nice beach! Ice cream shop on site was great.
There were booths, and during the day I believe it costs to utilize the beach/lighthouse. There were a lot of people there on a Sunday evening. It was a beautiful sunset.
Not Ideal – just an OK stay overnight
Most recent stay was 6/30/16 - I'm "late" in posting my review ~ We camp in a Little Rig “Tear Drop” style RV only 15' long w/o toilet or shower ~ plus we like to eat outdoors using the picnic table and set up our dining canopy for sun and weather protection and thus rely on condition of campgrounds facilities and being nearby our site ~ so our critique is focused in that area.
We were close to restroom/shower building which were ok and typical of state park. No hooks or shelves for your stuff but shower stalls were separate private rooms accessed from outside separate door (unisex style) all tiled walls w/small bench but no rubber mats on floor (wear your clogs). Access to toilets and community sink area through separate door. Area was very messy and dirty – didn’t have hooks or shelves for your stuff – no paper towels for visitors use to clean up after themselves – only air dryer and probably reason for it being messy – not a pleasant experience . .
Park was very crowded during our stay; sites very close together/cramped very minimal privacy between sites not typical of state park. Gravel site pads fairly level asphalt interior roads.
Disclaimer: As I write this review it occurred to me that there might be 2 sections (old & new) and most likely we were in older section sites 117 thru 172 [Woodstock loop]? I Believe the Pine Loop Sites 001 thru 116 might be larger w/more privacy not squeezed and restroom/showers were more modern
