This was the only place that had last minute space on a Friday and Saturday night in the Hood Canal area where we wanted to be, so we grabbed it. It's across the highway from the water, and though our site said "Deluxe Creekside" I never saw a creek. Maybe I didn't walk far enough. They apparently have Wi-Fi but it wasn't working while we were there. The resort also includes a hotel, so there are few structures around as well as RV spots. It's a good location for exploring Hood Canal though.

We loved it here. Only ding is there is no access to anything on foot from the park. The views of the water and surrounding forest are amazing. Sites are on slight terrace so you can see water from most sites. Gravel roads with gravel sites on perimeter, interior row has small concrete parking pads. All have full hookups, 50 amp only on creekside sites. Creek dry because of drought. Private deck and dock access on the canal, across Hwy 101, some campers picnicked there, others dropped crab nets. Large, enclosed hot tub with views of water, clean laundry room and restrooms, large community room with rock fireplace and billiard table. Community bbqs, gazebo with covered picnic tables. Dog run. Ice and propane on site. Mamma deer and young buck wandered through the park throughout the day. We thought being on the highway it would be noisy, but never noticed it. Wifi worked fine. Nothing to block satellite. Cable tv with 170 channels.
Small town of Hoodsport two miles south, gas/diesel, a couple restaurants, visitors center for Olympic National Forest, winery, local stores. Large town of Shelton 15 miles south has everything. Lake Cushman nearby with beautiful, clear aqua water, but limited water access.

Traveling full time you don't realize a holiday is coming up until it creeps up on you and you realize you don't have a stop booked. This was the case so finding a campground near Seattle was our goal and we also love to be near water.
The drive to the resort was GORGEOUS! Crystal clear water along side the winding road up to the campground. Since we only stayed for such a short period of time we didn't get to get in that water but tons of people were in it everyday.
The campground itself was packed the weekend we went. Literally every single site filled and everyone was outside 24/7. If we had a back-in spot it would have been impossible to get into it with how many people were there. The deluxe spots are not on the canal. Yeah, you can see the canal from there but it's across the street and we were able to see just as much as those sites in the middle pullthru sites. The dog area was a creepy run down little creek filled with leftover dog poop from bad owners. We tried out the hot tub and it was fine. We were able to walk across the street to the private dock and watch fireworks.
It normally being less crowded might be nice since it's such a tight resort, nevertheless we probably won't be coming back. All of the people staying in the park seemed to live nearby and came out for the holiday.

Unlike what it says. There is zero internet and calls drop. Even with Verizon & ATT hot spots. The people who work here are unfriendly and basically rude & borderline hostile. Not even a tiny bit of politeness or common curtesy. Very disappointing since the area is so pretty. Pets are not allowed on any grass, or the dock, or beach. There are other rv park’s nearby. Choose them instead.

We liked everything about this place except for the walkibility. The road that runs down into town has no shoulders or sideewalks, so you pretty much need to drive to go anywhere.
Besides that, it is nice, clean, and classy. Good spot.
Another recent reviewer says they had issues with cellular service here, but I havent had a single issue. Strong signal all around here.

Though this RV park is off the highway we found there to be very little road noise. Our back in site was gravel and not quite level. Sites were close together so at a busy time I can see it would be a bit crowded here. We had two chairs and a picnic table at our site. Staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. Hot tub was great. Bathrooms and showers were very clean. The WiFi worked great when we were there, but it was not crowded. Our ATT cell service was also great.

The upside to this RV park: the sites had full hook ups, there were showers and laundry, free wifi and the staff could not be nicer. lt was close to Olympic National Park and it had a dock across 101 that had great views of Hood Canal. The downside: Very LOUD construction noise from a lot next door being cleared of trees that started at 6am and went to 9pm, sites were close together and not anything special.

This is our 2nd visit to Glen Ayr Resort and hope to winter here for thr 2023/2024 winter season.
Great staff, great beach, love the local community and right balance between close to big town and away from the craziness.

We enjoyed returning and wintering at Glen Ayr Motel and RV Park again this year. We stayed longer than we have before (3+ months) and enjoyed our stay. This time we stayed on the other side of the property in Site #2 along the creek. There were a couple of very nice additions to the creek side area. Most notably less wind than the rest of the park (most days) and much better views of the Hood Canal.
