“cabins, camping, and rv sites”
You'll know this campground is special the minute you drive through the entrance. Azaleas, oaks and loblolly pines give a signature touch to its Lowcountry charm. Nearby, the historic Magnolia Plantation and Middleton Place feature beautiful gardens. Beat the summer heat at Whirlin' Waters Adventure Waterpark (located within North Charleston Wannamaker County Park). Attractions abound in lovely Charleston, where horse-drawn carriages clip-clop along the historic harbor. Tour Fort Sumter National Monument, where the Civil War began, and the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown. Watch the skies for military/commercial planes - you might spot a Boeing 747 Dreamlifter. Bring a group - the campground has a great recreation building with a full kitchen and meeting facilities. An exciting addition is the family lodge - a fun home-away-from-home that sleeps up to eight people. Pool: March 15 - October 15. Max pull thru: 70 feet. Your host: Roger Thorpe.

This KOA is in a sketchy area. We didn't have any issues.
This is probably the worst KOA I have ever stayed in. It was basically an extension of the trailer park it backed up to. It looked like some of the RV's had not moved in 10 years. I recommend you keep your valuables on you & keep your vehicles locked. I was extremely disappointed. Definitely not up to the KOA standards I have come to expect from my experience in previous stays at KOA campgrounds
This was my partner and I's first trip for longer than a weekend out with our TT rig. The spot itself isn't bad, you have to park right in front of your rig to avoid being on the campground roads, unless you're lucky enough to snag one of the corner sites.
It's a bit loud, as it's right next to highway 78, and near an airport, so there's sirens and airlines at least once every other hour.
The staff are very friendly, and the cost of goods in the camp store aren't that bad!
The main draw-back, other than the noise, is that Highway 78 is PACKED during the afternoons, making it very difficult to get in and out of the campground. We have a full-size F350, and it was a nightmare getting in and out of the campground.

For the money you have to spend these days, I expect a pristine clean facility. The bathrooms were just ok, not particularly clean. the handicapped shower should have a movable/ handheld shower head along with a seat. The sites are not raked, the dead leaves constantly get into your rig despite a mat. Picnic tables are moldy. The laundry was the worst part. The machines were ok, BUT - dirty, cracked linoleum floors. You don’t want to drop anything! I’ve seen better at state parks at half the price!

Friendly staff, easy pull through spots and quiet. But they could spend a little more time on the grounds a little nicer.

We were put next to a camper running an auto repair shop out of his campsite. The rules we were given upon settling here clearly state that campsites are to be maintained in "a safe and orderly manner and ... keep it camping." The rules further state that "any and ALL external items must be camp related (grills, lawn chairs, coolers, bikes.) " Since when are using pneumatic power tools, power saws and hammers "keeping it camping or camp related?" This mobile auto repair shop, as his business is so named on his trailer, operates about six feet from the bedroom in our camper where we sleep. The other day when I complained the management told me they would "talk to him" but they never showed up to talk to our neighbor and he continued hammering and drilling away from 7am until 10pm that night. Apparently the campers surrounding this guy have no rights; only the auto shop owner has rights here. There is a reason auto repair businesses are only allowed to operate in industrial zoned areas. I never realized campsites can be operated in these environments alongside an industrial business. It's disappointing enough for the local campground manager to allow one camper to trample the rights of the other campers, but when the KOA corporate response is to hide behind broken rules and passing the buck to the local manager, that's pathetic. Maybe the managers are intimidated by the picture of an assault rifle with threats to deter visitors that this guy has posted in his window. Not many nationally known companies would allow a local manager to sully their name and run such a trashy operation, but it appears KOA is an exception. Not only is the noise ridiculous, but this campground has not had functional public toilets and showers since before we got here and will not have them operational in the near future. This place also has the worst wi-fi reception of any place we've stayed. We are full-time campers and if this is how you treat your guests, KOA will be dropped to the bottom of our list when seeking future accommodations.

Campground has potential but need upkeep! Grass not mowed and no trimming! Flowers around but covered in weeds! Also too many sites of full timers nit keeping site up. Staff was friendly. First site we had was very narrow (C8) and picnic table was right at sewer hookup for site beside us. Staff allowed us to move. Most picnic tables were very run down except at premium sites. WiFi was not good from our site. Use AT&T and could not make a phone call. Area to dog park was blocked. Pro for the park—Furnished trash bags And picked up trash from site. Will not stay here again!

There was some good, bad, and ugly here. The good: relatively good location, friendly staff, normal KOA amenities, level sites, and abundant shade in most areas. The deluxe sites had patios, chairs, fire ring, and a swing. Wi-Fi worked OK. There were numerous doggie waste stations stocked with bags. The bad: occasional noise from planes, trains, and ambulances, aging utilities in many sites (sewers only covered by bricks, uncovered electrical panels, leaking faucets). The ugly: derelict trailers that belonged in the RV ghetto. All said, we’d probably return but not as our first choice.

Many KOAs pack in their sites so I wasn’t surprised to see these sites can be tight. In their favor, they have more than 1/2 their sites can accommodate a big rig. We stayed on a pull through site that has about 10 feet between you and your neighbor. There are some back in sites that look to have large grassy areas to the rear of the site, but the electric boxes looked older.
WIFI is excellent. They have repeaters everywhere and it was consistent enough for streaming. Amenities include a pool, basketball court, playground, and dog park. The dog park is mostly dirt. It could use some grass.
We had business in the area and the location was convenient. The campers were a mix of vacationers and contractors working in the area.
Noise wise, we had no issues with the campers, but you can hear the interstate traffic.
