“the fabulous flamingo”
Flamingo Las Vegas is a hotel and casino located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is owned and operated by Caesars Entertainment Corporation. The property includes a casino along with 3,626 hotel rooms. The site's architectural theme is reminiscent of the Art Deco and Streamline Moderne style of Miami and South Beach. Staying true to its theme, the hotel includes a garden courtyard which serves as a wildlife habitat for flamingos. The hotel was the third resort to open on the Strip and remains the oldest resort on the Strip in operation today. The Flamingo has a Las Vegas Monorail station called the Flamingo & Caesars Palace station at the rear of the property. After opening in 1946, it has undergone a number of ownership changes.
Reviews
The Flamingo is a Vegas classic. As such it is a little run down and dated in places. BUT it really is 'proper' Vegas strip so it's well worth considering for the full experience, and you can usually get a pretty good deal. It is also undergoing some pretty major remodeling (which takes a while on 3000+ rooms) so try and steer towards the newer ones, called GO rooms, for a more comfortable experience in-room.
A little run down but for the price we paid we were more than happy with our clean, spacious room right on the strip.
Wildlife habitat is worth walking through and is free to see flock of Chilean flamingos, Ring Tealed ducks, Ibis swans, ducks, koi, turtles two brown pelicans that came from a pelican rescue.
For being in the very middle of the strip it was fairly priced. Our room wasn't luxurious, but it was nice and comfy for our short stay before we started our Honeymoon Road Trip.
I'd never stay at Flamingo again. And I've used only Caesars brands for 15 years. The line to check in had at least 100 people in line & only 3 employees checking in people. I called to request a stopper for the bath tub as our room did not have one. An hour later with no stopper, I called again. It ended up being 2 hours from the time requested. I understand it's Vegas but at 2am, the room beside us were yelling & music blaring so I called to have someone ask to turn it down. 30 minutes later no one had come so I called AGAIN. Finally at 45 minute after the request, security came. They turned the music down but still yelling & still gelling at 6am. I asked for a room change & they refused to change my room. So apparently you're expected to pay for a room where you can not sleep. I should not be forced to pay for a room where I can't sleep simply because they do not want to clean another room. I love all Caesars brands I used in the past but I'd never stay at flamingo ever again.
Great hotel and good prices. When you go out to the walk way make sure you go to the martini bar.
We had a great stay! Could be easier to access hotel from parking garage -- but all in all - great stay! Fabulous view of the strip from our room.
The Flamingo Hotel is great old school Las Vegas. Admittedly, it is not as glamorous as other hotels on the Strip, but it still retains a great deal of its grandeur.
The buffet is excellent; so are other higher-end dining options, such as its steakhouse. The flamingo habitat needs to be visited. The rooms are beyond comfortable, with less of a hotel feel and more like a nice, upscale apartment. If you're in a room up high enough, you'll get a great view of the lit-up Strip.
If you are looking to do Vegas on a budget and still feel like a high-roller, head to the Flamingo.
Donny & Marie is a MUST SEE, whether you are a longtime fan or seeking a high-energy Vegas production. Insanely fun duo, blending comedy, musical talent and a 50 year history in show biz.
You won't regret seeing this amazing show! Try for seats on the lower deck.
A pretty rundown spot but a classic on the strip
