“A unique vacation experience”
We are located on a large Lake Superior bay with a gravel beach. It's a great place for rock and agate picking or a moon lit campfire in the evening. Our resort has a natural boat harbor with docks where our guests can bring their own boats and enjoy trolling for lake trout and salmon, or perhaps canoe or kayak in the bay on a calm day. No jet skis please. Two streams empty into Lake Superior on our beach. We have scenic hiking trails along the streams and shoreline (bring your camera). Our resort is conviently located midway to six state parks with extensive hiking trail systems. Access to the Superior Hiking Trail is nearby. Our History: We are a third generation resort. Fenstad's Resort was started in 1936 by Ben and Agnes Fenstad. They built cabins and also had a commercial fishing business. In 1968, Blaine and Mary Fenstad, adding more cabins, ran the resort until the year 2000 when David, Mark and Susie Fenstad took over. A fourth generation, Megan, Leah and Zach make an important contribution to the operation of the resort. We now have 16 lakeshore cabins.
