“Photo op of over 40 quirky sculptures”
Porter Sculpture Park is located just off Interstate 90 in Montrose, South Dakota (about 25 miles west of Sioux Falls, on the eastern edge of McCook County). It is on the South Dakota Drift Prairie. Many of the sculptures, in the style of industrial art, were made with scrap metal, old farm equipment, or railroad tie plates. The largest sculpture in the park is a 60-foot-tall (18 m) bull head. This sculpture took three years to build, weighs 25 tons, and is equal in size to the heads of Mt. Rushmore. Everyone will enjoy the porter Sculpture Park - people who love art and entertainment and those that don't! * Over 40 sculptures * A great place to walk your dog * Kids 12 and under free! * 60 foot Bull’s Head Sculpture * Take a walk inside the Bull’s Head * As seen on PBS, CBS – Midwest and International TV * Handicapped accessible with courtesy golf cart * Easy access off I-90 – RV’s welcome * Guided tours with sculptor included * Sculptures also on display at 13th and Phillips Downtown Sioux Falls

Open from Memorial Day Through September 15, Daily from 7 A.M.-8 P.M.
Prices are more expensive than what’s advertised. The road to get to the attraction needs repaired we got our car covered in mud and almost got stuck trying to get to the entrance only to find the prices had increased and it was more than what we were paying to get into larger attractions.
A very nice stop on our way to Yellowstone ! The man who built all of the sculptures is very nice and lets you pet his adorable dog ! Definitely would recomend you stop to see all of his amazing creations !
CLOSED FOR THE SEASON?????????? WTF??
Arrived on a gorgeous day September 28th. As an artist myself I'd been looking forward to seeing this for months! I saw it from the freeway and saw the signs directing me. To my disappointment a tiny sign said "closed for the season". Really? The sculptures are there. I can't see them? The sculptures aren't going anywhere. I hadn't realized that it closed so early.
We saw this from I-90 on the way to the Black Hills and made it a point to stop in on our way home. It was at sunset and was gorgeous! The dirt road was in great shape, they currently accept credit cards, and it was open until 8:30pm (8/31/21). It was fun to meet the artist and hear the excitement in his voice when telling us his story!
Great spot to stretch your legs.
Worth the $ 8 admission. After talking to the artist, I believe he is more interested in people seeing his art then making $. No problem for large campers, dirt road is good with plenty of turn around space. Gate is only closed with bungee cords in winter according to owner Porter.
A poet/philosopher and an artist? In South Dakota, of course. Worth the stop, really great work.
awesome roadside attraction, do not miss on the i90
