We just stayed one night on our way somewhere the site they gave us was 6 inches off level at the flattest spot. Closest restroom was closed and it just wasn’t that up kept of a place. However, if you’re looking for the location, just go in with the expectations of parking and not spending time at your site.

I was in a camper so I didn’t need the bathhouses. Several others in my party used the bathhouses and said they were ”disgusting”. When I got home, several other people had commented on Facebook as to the condition of the bathhouses throughout the park. I must admit this is the first time I have experienced this, and will camp there at least one more time. But without improvements, it will be only one more time. And this was my favorite campground.

Would’ve given 5 but the lack of sewage for my rv. Overall it’s a great place to stay kids and wife enjoyed. Showers were old but clean and smelled good. Very centric dump site. Definitely will camp here again!!

The park is well kept with lots of different things to do. Very much a comparable campground to Virginia State Parks when it comes to site amenities (water & power). Be aware that many of the site are NOT level so make sure you inquire when booking the reservation. Will definitely make a return visit.

This was a nice peaceful campsite. Very few campers back in here. Lot of large, level spots. We have a 37 foot 5th wheel and didn’t have any issues getting it backed in and level.
There are tons of bike trails going everywhere throughout the park. Bathhouse was clean and spacious. We didn’t use the showers but they looked nice enough. Easy access from I64.
We spent a little time driving around Historical Yorktown which is only a few miles away.

This place is a hidden gem, beautiful especially now in fall is like dream. We came here to visit our fave fall festival and we are super amazed with the camp sites, with everything that this park offer to enjoy a couple days in peace. Also you have the NN Park besides that is a plus. The campground are big spaces, easy to manage to park your RV or TT, the ground are level and have water and electricity. The store is great the only negative or down side is that don’t have sewer hookups only a dump station. Cell phone signal was excellent and tv signal was HD with a lot channels that our antena can get.

We stopped here as we were traveling through, arriving mid-afternoon. There were lots of spots to choose from even on a Friday night. Nice level spots, lots of privacy. As a special treat we discovered that the bike trail from the campground led to a historical route through Revolutionary War sites, so we thoroughly enjoyed experiencing a bit of history as part of our camping experience.

Just staying 1 night but the campground has beautiful scenery. The bathrooms are nothing to write home about but they serve the purpose.

We stayed one night in February 2020. The park was almost empty and it was nice to have the place to ourselves. This is a lovely park and very convenient to the highway. The Park office and store is beautiful and the people are very friendly. They have very nice laundry facilities and a centralized dump station. Our site was perfect and we could see the lake from our camper. We chose a site very close to the bathhouses since we were winterized. The bathrooms were just okay. Warm and clean enough, but could use some maintenance and paint.
My only real issue with the park is the noise. It is VERY close to interstate 64, so there is a lot of road noise throughout the night, especially in the winter with bare trees. Next time we go we will pick a place as far away from the highway as possible and we'll make sure to bring ear plugs. But we would go again someday because it is a lovely park. And you can't beat it for the price!

We stayed at site D100 for 10 days. The sites are quiet, very spacious, nicely spaced, some surprisingly so, but many are deceptively unlevel, particularly on the outside of the loops, and are heavily wooded. Some loops are primitive, some have only 20A service and some have 30A service and water hookup. There are no sewer hookups, but there is a dump station. There are a lot of low hanging branches on the roads through the park and it is showing some signs of age. There is some road noise from I 64, but not too bad if you stay deeper into the park and away from the lake. AT&T had 2 bars and 6 MB/s w/o a booster, 3 bars and 8 MB/s with it. There is no satellite coverage due to the heavy tree canopy. OTA TV was descent using an external omni antenna. There is no WiFi. We had the place pretty much to ourselves during the week, but the weekend did get busy. There is a very nice network of trails, most if not all were leashed dog friendly. The park is a civil war historic site and is close to a lot of other historic places.
