“The birth of something the world has never seen”
A larger than life size sculpture of a Cow-Chicken combo hatching out of an egg. I don't know what the inspiration for this unusual sculpture is but it's a sight to see for sure. Head past the parking lot of Paint Bank General Store and it'll be by the trees.

absolutely the best stop on our trip. 2100 miles and 33 stops from va to co all oddball attractions and this was one of the top stops. The sculpture was awesome. However, there was also a great little mill next to a stream and a fish pond with fish food. But the general store and restaurant were amazing. This is well worth the stop and definitely worth going out of your way to see and experience and believe me you will go out of your way to get here. The drive is amazing, a nice mountain winding road that ends at this gem. The general store is top notch with tons of goods to view or purchase. There is even a meat smoker outside shaped like an old coal steam engine train. Well worth the drive. I highly recommend this place.
We loved it here. I agree with the other reviewers that the Udderly Chick got me to go there but the real gem is the town of Paint Bank and the beautiful views up and down the crazy mountain with the buffalo all grazing. There was no cell service or GPS :0. A little scary when you have an hour drive on a winding road and hoping you make it LOL. We ate lunch at the Swingbridge restaurant. We had to try the buffalo chili. I enjoyed it. The restaurant and General Store have such charm. You must check out the cool bathroom too ;). There is a swingbridge right in the restaurant and there is a giant buffalo and buffalo heads on the wall. We went back and fed the trout in the pond and walked along the stream. We visited the mill which was very cool. It was definitely worth seeing this beautiful town and scenery.
Still here!
Don't go at night! This is in a valley, and we had to drive up to a high altitude and through a cloud to get in and out. Horrible visibility. Whoops! Looked like it would be lovely during the day, though!
A real gem which we reached by driving up to 3500 ft up the mountain road with my husband thinking I was leading him on a wild goose chase. We arrived in minus 4 temperature to a huge log fire and delicious meal. An amazing place in the middle of no where. Open all day for food which was extremely tasty.
You MUST see Paint Bank! Great little restaurant in the general store, nice mill on the creek, nice little hotel, stay in a caboose... CUTE!
