The Jefferson County Historical Society is an incorporated, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in the downtown historic district of Port Townsend. Since 1951, the JCHS Museum has welcomed visitors to the landmark City Hall building at 540 Water Street. The Jefferson County Historical Society has collected and exhibited art from its earliest days. Many of the early pieces were created by teachers and students of Port Townsend's historic art schools. Our mission is to actively discover, collect, preserve, and promote the heritage of Jefferson County in the State of Washington.
