Doug and Melody Baker have owned and operated "IN THE WILDS" fishing resort since 1976. They attempt to maintain the rustic and quiet atmosphere which originated in 1933. Fishing is the main activity, however horseshoes, basketball, and volleyball are available for other recreation. The whole camp is invited to a potluck picnic on Tuesday of every week. The Bakers always try to make your vacation a fun and friendly experience. "IN THE WILDS" fishing resort is located on Swift lake and is connected to Big Boy Lake and Leech Lake, in the heart of the Chippewa National Forest. This is the famous Leech Lake chain where walleyes, northern, crappies, bass, and panfish are plentiful.
