The fifty acre Hillside Section extends from Ladera Street south to the Navy property and is bordered by Point Loma Nazarene University on the east. The Hillside Section can be accessed at the corner of Ladera Street and Cornish Drive or through the Lomaland entrance from Catalina Boulevard.

Great sunset views for photographers. My favorite spot. The red rock contrasts nicely against the blue water and sky. There's several trails down to the coves, none are easy. Big with the surfers. Theres hiking trails as well and it's pretty dog friendly. There's tons of little places to explore too but be mindful of the tide. You can also see humpbacks migrating from here at certain times of the year, as well as dolphins, seals and sea lions.
Like sunsets in the ocean? OK. How about cliffs, perfectly lit by that sunset? How about if we add surfers in the sunset? Good? Nay! It's Greeaaaaat!!! Pro tip: You don't have to get these super early, parking along the street is not too bad, and they'll be a little walking, but not too bad. Keep an eye on the kids!!!
This is one of my all-time favorite places. It's beautiful and it's free, a good place to relax and let all your cares and worries go away.
This is by far the best sunset in San Diego. Pack a blanket and sit on the edge of America watching the sun set into the ocean.
Try to park at the end and find your way down onto the beaches. You'll thank me later.
We heard about the glory of the sunset at Sunset Cliffs Natural Park, so being romantic, we decided to visit and see it ourselves.
The cliff is steep enough I could rather say, but if you are careful you will enjoy the whole hiking.
The sunset is truly FANTASTIC!!! The sky colors get to change every minute...the background looks like a painting canvas!!
Perfect place for taking your other half!
