Got there just in time for dinner before the cafe closed. Not the best food in the world, but the atmosphere was well worth the stop. My kids said it felt like they were in a movie because of the New Mexico scenery.
Best place to shop for souvenirs. I always buy a cactus from here. And the last trip I invested in some super-comfortable fleece-lined boots that got this California girl through the rest of a very cold route 66 road trip.
Not the best place to get gas (you can find it cheaper elsewhere) but you're probably not stopping here for gas. You're probably stopping here to explore the old-school Route 66 attraction, take a few pictures and browse around as a break from sitting in the car. If you can, stop in the Mexican joint for some authentic green chile!
Very bummed put this on the map for our trip and got here before 9 and it was already closed! I had checked their "website" before going and it doesn't list hours so I don't know when they closed but I kind of assumed no hours listed and such a "destination" at the corner of two highways.... maybe it's 24/7...unfortunately it was not.
Was there in August on a motorcycle trip from Ilinois. Food was great and everyone was so friendly. Bought some things and looking forward to stopping there again.
If you’re looking for an rv stop, I’d say pass this one up. It was a neat stop just for the history but not a great rv park. No showers, no thanks.
Nothing extraordinary - subway or a burger place to eat. Looks like they are under construction for much of the building -March 2020. Bought some $10 t-shirts and bumper stickers. Convenience store, gas and restroom and went on our way.
This was a fun little stop. Definitely the best place for souvenirs. I should have bought more because no other place on our trip compared. We ended up spending way more time in here than expected because of all the cool things inside to see. The bathrooms were really cool and clean which we really appreciated since we hit some bad ones along our trip.
Fun as always. Love stopping here everyone we come this way.
We made it here a little before 9p and the amazing looking gift shop was closed :( the part that was open was not that great, no coffee and the pop machine was out of order. I was disappointed but will have to stop next time to really see everything when it's open.
