“bring your hiking boots”
The Superior Hiking Trail is a 286-mile footpath that largely follows the rocky ridgeline above Lake Superior on Minnesota's North Shore from Duluth to the Canadian border. There are trailhead parking lots every 5-10 miles making it ideal for both day hikes and backpack camping. There are 89 backcountry campsites with no fees, reservations or permits required to hike or camp on the trail. Dogs are allowed on leash only. The Superior Hiking Trail Association builds, maintains, and manages the trail with the help of hundreds of volunteers. Please help by joining, donating or volunteering. Thanks!
