A must stop if you're in the area. Great place to stretch your legs and cool off on a hot day by splashing in the water. You can climb all over the falls, which makes it a perfect spot for older kids or kids at heart. I've stopped here multiple times with vans full of teens and practically had to drag them out of the park.
There are beautiful hiking trails and more falls that aren't on the main path so they aren't as crowded. On the trails there are primitive camping sites. A beautiful part of Minnesota!
If we camp here again, it would not be in a 40 ft motorhome. Driving in was a challenge. GREAT PARK for campers, class C and tents. Awesome trails nearby and the stars at night were the most beautiful I’ve ever seen.

As said, great campground with beautiful waterfall hikes right next to it. Had both pit and flushable bathroom options, and had about 2 bars of Verizon that allowed workable internet. Relatively flat spot to park (space 54) for camper van with picnic bench and fire ring. Would definitely recommend.

I've been coming to Gooseberry falls for years, but this was my first time camping here. What a place. If you only know it for the falls, you are missing out on some great trails, amazing cliffs views over Lake Superior and truly beautiful structures constructed by the CCC out of stone. There's no electrical hook ups, so be ready for a boondocks like experience in you are in an RV. Sites are private but on the small side. We had 59 which is right on Lake Superior, but sure to the trees you could not see the lake unless you walked over to it (about 100 yards). Fun interpretive program and friendly rangers.

We were really happy with this place. The sites were large and mostly private. The facilities were very clean and the access to hiking and biking were great. The falls are beautiful. The staff was very accommodating as well.

This was a nice campground near the Gooseberry Falls, with easy access to the trails and waterfalls right from camp.
No electricity or water for filling RVs, but fresh water is available and there is an RV dump station. Nice bathroom facilities overall but be ready for water-conserving showers that turn off quite quickly. At least the water stayed hot.
Mix of sites in terms of size, shape and layout so we saw a lot of different tent and RV combos. Dirt roads and dirt campsites did make for a dusty time during dry conditions.
Be sure to ask for the CCC map at the visitors center and then go find all the remaining structures. It's a fun hunt to go on.

Reservations were easy on line but this is a popular park and would be difficult to get into in peak season. The road is gravel. It said drive in site and it was exactly that. I could drive into a small loop that was the campsite. It was so sloped that I could only get close to level with leveling blocks. No services are provided but there is a picnic table and fire pit. Nice flush toilets are nearby. AT&T had 2 bars but not enough to support serious internet work. Antenna reception was 4 poor channels. The site is close to Gooseberry Falls and the Split Rock Lighthouse.
