Paid $51 for a single night stay. Full hookups (50amp, water, sewer). Stayed in site 4.
We called on our way to the area and they had 1 spot left that could fit our 42ft 5th wheel. We arrived after office hours but they had provided us with paperwork and instructions. It was easy access to the site straight past the office in a pull-through site. Required a couple leveling blocks to level the trailer but not too bad considering the entire campground is on a hillside with a downward slope towards the old Virginia City mining town.
We only stayed 1 night but that was enough to walk the boardwalks in town, get some food and some ice cream, and take the little Alder Gulch train over to Nevada City.

My husband took a job up here for 6 months. The park is immaculate, the owners are literally the best people! They made us feel like family. I sincerely hope that we have the opportunity to stay here again!

Easy Road from the highway to the Park and then easy access. Wonderful welcome when we checked in. Our site was a pull.through and it was plenty long for the trick and our 35' 5th wheel and level. The park is nestled in the mountains and very beautiful. The sites we reasonably wide. The laundry room had 2 washers and 2 dryers very clean, new machines. We didn't use the bath house so I don't know about that.
Loved Virginia City what a fun place to go. We took the tour and then spent the rest of the day enjoying the place.

This was a beautiful campsite! Every campsite should strive to be as high quality as Rambling Moose. We were in site #3, which fit our 41’ Motorcoach very comfortably. We had plenty of room to put out the awnings and set out 5 chairs to enjoy the breathtaking views. The bathroom/shower/laundry facilities were extremely clean. The sunsets were amazing! Took a short drive into Virginia City and toured the historical sites, as well as the neighboring Nevada City. Yellowstone was about 1 and a half hour drive away, but so worth the drive!! The site wasn’t as level as we would have liked, but we made it work. Also wish there was a game room type area for kids. The owners were very welcoming and gave us great advice on what to do in the area. It was an amazing part of our road trip vacation this summer.

Small park 10 pull throughs and about 20 back ins. tent spaces also along with a couple of cabins.
My daughter and I stayed in site #4 which is a pull through . No over the air tv that I could receive with my old batwing antenna. Used a Verizon cell hot spot with 3 bars which worked for smart tv.
Site was not very level side to side and had to max out my Andersen levelers to get close . Also have to share green space with next pull through but no big deal . The green space between sites had two picnic tables . Immediate slope outside trailer door was an inconvenience but we worked with it.
Advertised a dog park but the area is not fenced in so I would not call that a dog park. Bummer as we had an 11 month old puppy with us.
Front desk person(owner?) was very nice and check in was very simple . Laundry room was small but adequate but we didn't use it. Shower/ restrooms looks clean and well maintained ,once again we didn't use them. No fire pits as a fire watch was in effect .
If you are arriving from the south the entrance is towards the bottom of a very long large hill pn a corner .
If you are coming from the north it is at uphill on the right side .
The plusses outweigh the minuses and we would stay here again because of the location.

Greg and Kim owners are some of the most welcoming people you'll ever meet. Beautiful and quiet location. Sites are level gravel with most being full hookups. Shower and bathrooms are very clean. There's use of a laundry and dryer on site. It's a great place for kids to run free and explore the area. We had AT&T cell coverage. We didn't have basic tv coverage or AM or FM signal. But that's OK. Virginia City is a short walk or drive into town. We'd definitely would stay here again.

As others have said, the people were friendly. Cleanliness was great!! Just an FYI washers are $2 and dryers are $1.25. I ran a little short on quarters and swapped another camper for a quarter.
If you are looking for a campground in this area, by all means, it's a must!
I will say, the entrance snuck up on me really quick coming up from Yellowstone! :o

Great experience at the Rambling Moose. We had a very relaxing time here. The sites are an acceptable size, everything worked as it should, the bathhouse was nice and clean. Every site had a little grassy spot for your camp chairs. Great views. There was a little path to walk my pup on and she enjoyed the stay -sniffing where all the wildlife had been. The campground was well maintained, the staff were exceptionally nice.
