Reviews
We visited the River Bend Nature Center with my son while in Witchita Falls for some family time and we had a lot of fun. My son really enjoyed spending time learning about nature and doing educational activities. When the event was done the kids went inside and enjoyed some pop corn. In this place you can find a very nice gift shop. The staff was very friendly and good with kids. I overheard other people saying that you can organise events, birthdays even weddings here! If you find yourself in Wichita Falls take your kid and visit the River Bend Nature Center you won’t regret it!
This is a top rated attraction in the area of Wichita Falls, and no wonder why. This is definitely an ideal place for those looking to have a break away from the buzz and anxiety of the urban life, especially if you are living in large cities, such as Dallas. Also, if you have kids it is an ideal opportunity for them to get in touch with 'mother' nature.
The butterflies exhibit is definitely worth to check it out. Even though the River Bend Nature Center is not something that spectacular, i could rather say its size is rather medium, nevertheless a great positive factor is the helpful and informative staff. Especially if your children are eager to learn about nature, insects, animals and plants, take them there and definitely the well trained and cheerful staff will stimulate even further your children's eagerness to find out more about the environment.
Overall, a great place to visit for families!
We came here in late January. Everything is dead the water in the river is a dark orange brown color. Even the water at the Falls is brown and ugly it's a very cold and there's very Pew markers indicating where anything is located it was an extremely long walk to find the falls inside the park maybe it is better in the summer months before today it gets to stars and was definitely not worth stopping.
Was closed when we got there, so we went to Lucy Park next door. Unless you’re willing to hike, it’s “just” a nice park in which to stretch your legs and walk your dog. We found a rickity old bridge across the water.
